I want to like Firefox, I really do… it used to be unrivaled and it still has all the best plugins and addons, but I find it is just incredibly slow and relatively insecure when compared to Chrome. Does that help Google track me down? Probably, but they were already doing a creepy good job of it before I made the switch!

I think this story is fascinating, and how google conducted their “sting” is very clever. That said, I’m not sure where I stand on this. Bing never said they weren’t collecting people’s data (though they didn’t really announce they were either), and google results are public information. I think it will come down to public relations and opinion, rather than anything legal, and probably 99% of people who use the internet will never hear about this anyway. 🙂
In any event, it’s a very interesting story, and it’s also why I don’t have the Bing OR the google toolbar on my browser, and why I use Firefox instead of Chrome. I guess I’m paranoid. 🙂
Steve
